New dates for Deaf Cancer Support Group in 2015

It’s that time of year when you’re all invited to come and eat cake and drink coffee/ tea – to help raise money for Macmillan. This year we have slightly changed the event from a Coffee ‘morning’ to a Coffee ‘evening’ on Wednesday 1st October. It will start on the afternoon at 3.30pm and continue until 7pm, here at the Deaf Cultural Centre, Ladywood Road, Birmingham, B16 8SZ.
It’s especially poignant this year as sadly one of the Support Group’s members, Jacqueline Allbutt passed away on the 28th Aug. Jackie was a much loved member of the Deaf community, therefore her friends would like the Coffee ‘evening’ to be in her memory, and a time to share stories about the lady who always had a smile. There will be an opportunity to write in a ‘memories’ book.
We look forward to sharing coffee/tea, cakes and memories with you!
Following the establishment of the Macmillan BID Deaf Cancer Care Programme in 2011, a similar service is now being offered in London, by cancer survivor Emma Boswell.
