BDHS Open Day III

 

As part of a partnership between the British Deaf History Society and the Deaf Cultural Centre, BDHS had an Open Day on Saturday 20 June 2009
from 10am until 4pm.  The day's theme was a Celebration of Deaf Sports and more than 130 people attended!

 

Guest Speakers were as follows:
- Robin Ash, Community Development Manager of the Deaf Cultural Centre
- Peter Jackson, Secretary of the British Deaf History Society
- Matthew Jackson, Yachting around the British Isles
- Brian Kokoruwe & Sandra Campbell, History of Deaf Athletics
- Philip Gerrad, Midland Deaf Sport Association
- James Mclean, BID Heritage project - Deaf Employment in Birmingham 1920 to 1940s
