International Deaf Cultural Party

On Saturday 11th July 2009, more than 200 people came to the International Deaf Cultural Party wearing clothes representing their homeland.

The buffet of the evening included different foods, specially tailored to cultural flavours bringing new sensations to those who had not tasted anything like it before and reminding visitors of their homeland.

Activities included drumming music and dance of the Indian type.  The audience enjoyed this very much and a few of them participated in the performance/dance workshop.

Troi of Deaf Rave enlightened visitors with interesting stories on his recent tour of the Far East.

With thanks to Robin and the Deaf Diversity Group (including Bhavana Mistry) for the co-ordination and planning of this party.  Also thanks to Karl Channer for taking the photos.
