Activity Fun for young Deaf people!

04 January 2010

From November to December 2009 for 5 weeks, there were activities for young Deaf people at the Deaf Cultural Centre.

They were organised by the centre's Community Development Manager, Robin Ash and they included introductions, dance and games tasters! Two of the evening sessions involved a consultation meeting with BSLBT and an evaluation meeting.

Between 23 and 27 young people attended each evening session from 8.30pm until 10pm. The aim was for them to participate in leisure activities whilst giving them the opportunity to make new friends and have fun!

Robin Ash said, "It wasa great success. It was good to see so many young people attending and taking part. Each session was full of laughter as you can see from the photos!".

Following feedback from the young people, it has been decided that the activities will continue in the New Year on a fortnightly basis. We will be announcing details on this very soon!
