Ladywood Convention

Robin Ash, Community Development Manager, had an exhibition stand from which he distributed information and answered questions from local councillors and the community which saw more than 100 people in attendance. This was to promote and raise awareness about the Deaf Cultural Centre and bid services as they are based in Ladywood.

The aim of the event was for local people to infuence priorities for the areas that they live in. Also it was an excellent opportunity to celebrate the commitment and hard work shown by the people of Aston, Ladywood, Nechells and Soho who are all part of the Ladywood Constituency. A number of awards were given, one being the 'Cleanest neighbourhood' which was givien to the Ladywood area.

During the day, a film crew from Noor TV interviewed various people at the event for a programme called 'Community Time'. Robin took part in this and briefly talked about the Deaf Cultural Centre and bid services. His part may be broadcast today on Thursday 22 October at 6pm on Sky Channel 819. Please watch out for this!
