Deaf Cultural Centre on the conferencing map

12 August 2009

When Event UK takes place on 22nd and 23rd September 2009 at the NEC, the Deaf Cultural Centre will be there to promote their facilities.  This event is being organised by Confex Group, who have invited a wide variety of members from the events industry.  The annual exhibition is held to promote destinations, exhibitions, charity events etc and to give visitors the opportunity to source venues that are suitable for their needs.

This will be the second year for Event UK and the Deaf Cultural Centre will be there to promote themselves as a unique space for conferences, meetings and training.  The centre also offers opportunities and support for the deaf community.  Deaf history and Deaf arts projects are displayed for visitors to gain an insight into Deaf Culture.

Kate Evans, Sales Executive, said: "This will be a good opportunity to put the Deaf Cultural Centre on the conferencing map, it will show that we can facilitate conference/meeting spaces and have local networks that are accessible to here.  We have hosted a number of conferences, training sessions, meetings, events and parties and we have a plethora of experience to deal with various requirements".

The Deaf Cultural Centre is based in Ladywood, Birmingham.  It is accessible to people with disabilities or specific, personal requirements and boasts a wide range of food choices.  The centre has four flexible meeting rooms/conference facilities accomodating between 5 - 150 people and a cultural cafe.
